About BGF 2011/2012:
The French government through the French Embassy in Jakarta has provided scholarships to citizens of Indonesia for more than 30 years. In order to develop human resources in Indonesia, the French Embassy will providescholarships for 2010.

The scholarships are given to civil servants, lecturers, students (especially those involved in the cooperation program between France and Indonesia) to follow the 2 types of educational programs:

Application and selection procedure

Applicants applying for a VLIR-UOS scholarship need to consider both the admission requirements and the scholarship criteria.

First, the host university is in charge of the academic admission of applications. Study results will be taken into consideration during the selection, but the most important academic selection criteria are relevant professional experience and prospects for applying the acquired insights after return to the developing country. The academic admission requirements are specific to every programme. Please peruse the requirements from the relevant programme.

For most, a joint selection committee of VLIR-UOS and the host university is responsible for selecting scholarships. The host university – not the applicant – forwards the scholarship applications to the VLIR-UOS secretariat if the academic admission requirements are met. The VLIR-UOS scholarship criteria relate to the qualifications required of all scholarship applicants and selection criteria evaluated by the selection committee. Download the VLIR-UOS scholarship criteria at the bottom of this page.
All applicants receive an acknowledgement of receipt of their applications. Applicants whose proposals are deemed academically admissible and who are awarded a scholarship for the academic year 2011-2012 will be contacted by VLIR-UOS and the host university by e-mail in May and June 2011. Applicants whose proposals are deemed academically admissible will be notified by the host university.

This is how you apply for the academic year 2011-2012

You can apply for a VLIR-UOS scholarship from the 1st of October 2010.

You must fill in the pre-screening form at the bottom of the page of the programme you want to follow. You may only choose one programme. If you apply to more than one programme your details will be entered more than once in our central database and all your applications will be inadmissible.

So you must follow the correct and complete procedure below.

1.Apply on the VLIR-UOS website via the pre-screening form: you must fill in all fields;
2.Receive a VLIR-UOS application/file number by return e-mail from VLIR-UOS (within maximum two weeks);
3.Apply on the website from the host university through the link mentioned in the return e-mail from VLIR-UOS;
4.Write the received VLIR-UOS application/file number on the application file from the host university;
5.Send a printout of your application file along with all required documents (diploma transcripts, motivation, etc…) to the International Office of the host university, not to VLIR-UOS.

Applications that are incomplete, illegible or that reach the host university’s International Office after the deadline will be automatically rejected.

The deadline to apply for a scholarship from VLIR-UOS for a master programme is the 1st of February 2011.

Spain MA Master Scholarships in Economics Finance 2011-2012
THE MASTER IN ECONOMICS AND FINANCE AT CEMFI is a two year full-time program intended to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the public and the private sectors. It also serves as the first two years of the PhD in Economics at CEMFI. This flexibility is very attractive to many students that initially are not sure whether they would like to follow a professional or an academic track. This program is taught in English.

The Master in Economics and Finance at CEMFI is an official degree granted by Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) according to the regulations of the Spanish Ministerio de Educación.
The distinctive feature of the program is the combination of an orientation towards applied and policy issues with a strong emphasis on analytical and quantitative approaches to these issues. This requires a solid understanding of the relevant economic, econometric, and computational techniques. The faculty teaching the courses are all active researchers at the frontier of their area of expertise. About 25 students are enrolled each year, which allows for close interaction with CEMFI’s faculty.
Each academic year is divided into three 10-week terms. Courses are concentrated in the first five terms, with three courses per term. Each course comprises three hours of lectures and one and a half hours of problem set classes per week. The sixth term is fully devoted to research work on the Master thesis that students must submit at the end of the program. In addition, a 2-week introductory course of Mathematics is taught in September of the first year.
The first two terms contain the core courses, while in the next three terms a wide range of elective courses are offered. The electives are grouped into four areas of specialization: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Finance. The choice of electives does not have to be concentrated in one of these areas, so students can decide their own degree of specialization.
In the summer between the first and the second year students are offered a Summer internship at a financial institution, a consultancy firm, a public sector department, or collaborating as a research assistant for a project of a faculty member.
In addition, from the second to the fifth term there is a workshop in which students present and discuss applied economics papers and debate papers on economic policy issues. Throughout the year there is a series of invited lectures and several series of research seminars that students regularly attend.
Tuition fees
The tuition fee for the Master in Economics and Finance 2011-2013 is EUR 3,654 per year. This figure may be adjusted by a limited amount, following regulations of the Spanish education authorities.
Exemption from tuition and scholarships
CEMFI may grant students exemptions of the tuition fee and/or scholarships for living expenses amounting up to EUR 10,000 per year. Exemptions and scholarships are granted according to academic merit. Some of this support is funded by a set of sponsoring institutions. Applications for funding will not affect the student’s chances of being admitted in any way.
Applicants of the Master are encouraged to apply directly for external scholarships for graduate programs. These scholarships usually have very early application deadlines. Therefore, we highly recommend students to apply well in advance.
Some institutions awarding scholarships to Spanish and EU students are: Banco de España, Fundación la Caixa, Fundación Rafael del Pino, Generalitat de Catalunya, Gobierno Vasco, and the Spanish Ministry of Labour (Reina Sofía Scholarships).
After enrolling in the Master these students can also apply for a scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Non-EU students (including Latin American students) should consult the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affaires website for the MAEC-AECID scholarships.
Scholarships for Latin American students
In previous years, special scholarships have been available for Latin American students of the Master. Candidates who wish to apply for one of them should indicate so in their application form. In case these scholarships are endowed, however, application for them will be carried out directly with the granting institution.
Subsidized loans
The Spanish Ministry of Education subsidizes loans in a set of banking institutions, for which students of any nationality, with residence in Spain, who enrol in graduate studies may apply.
Requirements
Applicants must have finished or be about to finish an undergraduate university degree. Final admission will be subject to having obtained the degree by September 2011. A good knowledge of English is required, since the Master is taught in this language.
Application
The application form should be filled out electronically. Applicants are recommended to read carefully the guidelines before proceeding.
Once filled out, the online application form should be submitted, including files for:
* Official transcript of grades obtained in undergraduate studies.
* Official transcript of grades obtained in graduate studies (if applicable).
* Proof of knowledge of English language.
* GRE scores.
* Any other documents.
Only files in PDF format may be uploaded. Each file should not be larger than 2 Mb.
Note: Applicants admitted to the Master will be asked to provide the corresponding original documents.
English language
Applicants whose native language is not English must provide recent proof of their command of the English language. This can be achieved through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The preferred way for receiving this information is the direct mailing by ETS. CEMFI’s institution code for direct mailing of the TOEFL score report is 7964. Alternative means of proof include the Cambridge Proficiency, Advanced or First Certificates, and the British Council IELTS.
Graduate Record Examination
Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide scores of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test. Registration for the test may be carried out by mail or through the GRE web page (www.ets.org/gre). The preferred way for receiving this information is the direct mailing of the GRE score by ETS. CEMFI’s institution code for direct mailing is 7046. Note that providing the scores in theapplication form is not a substitute for attaching an official score report or having it sent directly. Applicants who do not provide their GRE scores will not be considered for early admission.
Reference letters
In addition, two reference letters must be received by CEMFI, written by professors who have followed closely the applicant’s studies. Upon submission of the online application, recommenders will receive an email message allowing them to submit their letters online. Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt of their reference letters.

Selection process
A committee will be in charge of the admission process. The committee will take into account undergraduate grades, letters of reference, GRE results, knowledge of English, and any other information supplied by the candidate.
Applications arriving by 4 February 2011 will be considered for a first round of decisions. Further decisions may be made on a rolling basis thereafter.
Candidates within short-haul travel distance from Madrid may be asked to take an admission test on 29 April 2011 and have a personal interview on 30 April 2011. The test will be in English.
The final round of decisions will be made no later than 6 May 2011. Early application is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications
Prospective applicant must meet the following qualification criteria:

3. Have an adequate health, both physically and mentally. Persons who are pregnant or having severe illness may not apply.

Scholarship Benefits
1. Airplane ticket or airfare: The grantees will receive an airplane ticket or be paid an economy class airfare of the shortest route between their country and Korea when they come to Korea, and, thereafter, when they leave Korea after completion of their study.
2. Monthly Allowance: 800,000 won per month
3. Tuitions: The full tuition is exempted by NIIED and the entrance fee for the first semester by the host university.
4. Settlement Allowance: 200,000 won upon arrival
5. Repatriation Allowance: 100,000 won upon completion of studies
6. Korean Language Training Expenses
The full costs up to 1 year (NIIED pays directly to the language training institution)
7. Medical Insurance: The grantees will be provided with health insurance for major accidents and illnesses during their scholarship period.
Notes
1. NIIED does not compensate fees for the domestic travel both in the grantee`s country and Korea.
2. Airfare for entry into Korea will not be provided to a grantee that has been staying in Korea for between the confirmation date of selection of scholarship students and the designated entry due (February 28, 2011).
3. NIIED does not compensate fees for insurance of traveling to and from Korea.
4. The medical fee is to be reimbursed through the insurance company to the grantee after s/he pays first
5. Any grantee who gives up his/her study during the scholarship period will not receive airfare and allowance for repatriation except for the cases approved by NIIED such as severance of diplomatic relations, war or other natural disasters.
6. Any grantee who quits the program in 3 months after one`s entrance into Korea, should refund all scholarship fees (The airfare of arriving Korea, settlement allowance, monthly allowance, Korean language training expenses, etc.).

Scholarships are offered to students who are nationals of countries outwith the EU for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the University.
20 scholarships are available for the 2011-2012 session with each award worth £2,000 per year. Awards are tenable for the duration of the programme of study.

The scholarships are competitive and awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.

They are awarded to students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh.

A scheme of Government of India for the women scientists, “Women Scientists Scholarship Scheme (WOS-C)” Is being operated by the Departmentof Sciences Technology (DST). This application form requires a journalism GPA and overall cumulative GPA (available in OneStart). Freshmen will not have a GPA until grades are final at the end of December. For the Ross Hazeltine Travel Scholarships, available to seniors only, complete the online application for that award. This award provides funding for travel or study outside the United States, Canada or Mexico. Applicants must be in their senior years 2010-2011 and planning to receive BAJ degrees by August 2011. Travel time is for a two-month minimum.
Applicants also submit a proposal that includes a 1,000-word description of your project. It must include the title for the project, the country or countries the student intends to visit, rationale for the project, a description of how the reporting will be delivered to an audience, a timetable and an itinerary, a budget with estimates for coach airline travel, lodging, daily per diem, local transportation and other necessary items.
Applications are reviewed by the School of Journalism undergraduate scholarship committee, which is composed of faculty members and an undergraduate student. Candidates will be screened on the basis of their completed applications, and only candidates deemed qualified by the committee will be invited to the personal interviews.

Dosen merupakan SDM perguruan tinggi yang memiliki peran yang sangat sentral dan strategis dalam seluruh aktivitas di perguruan tinggi. Kualitas dosen akan sangat menentukan tinggi-rendahnya kualitas suatu perguruan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, sebagaimana diamanatkan UU Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, dan Permen Nomor 42 Tahun 2007 tentang Sertifikasi Dosen, dosen harus memiliki strata pendidikan minimal satu tingkat lebih tinggi dari para mahasiswa yang diajarnya.

Dosen perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang bergelar S2/S3 menurut data tahun 2003/2004 baru mencapai angka sekitar 55%. Pada tahun 2007 persantase tersebut menurun menjadi 50.6% (setara dengan 77663 orang), dan pada tahun 2008 meningkat menjadi 52.1% (setara dengan 80684 orang), sedangkan pada tahun 2009 persentase tersebut meningkat menjadi 57.4% (89890 orang). Persentase ini masih di jauh dari target yang ditetapkan dalam Rencana Strategis Ditjen Pendidikan Tinggi pada tahun 2009 yaitu 70%.

The Government of the Czech Republic Scholarships 2011 for Developing Countries
The Government of the Czech Republic offers a number of scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.
These so called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study:

1. in Bachelor/Master study programmes plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language (which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from upper secondary schools who can enrol only in study programmes in which they follow instruction in the Czech language. Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to take entrance examinations at the respective institution of higher education. The scholarship award is conditional upon a successful passing of entrance examinations;
2. in follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from Bachelor or Master study programmes, respectively, who enrol in study programmes with instruction in the English language.

Scholarship applications together with the required attachments are to be submitted to the appropriate Czech Embassy in the applicant’s country before the deadline set by the Embassy so that the applicants’ dossiers reach the respective Czech authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport) by 15 January each year.
Students who, at the time of application, stay in the Czech Republic may submit the respective documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department for Development Co-operation, by 31 December of the preceding year at the latest.
Foreign nationals who have been granted permanent residence in the Czech Republic are not eligible to apply for Government scholarships.
A limited number of scholarships is offered to students from developing countries who file their applications with the respective National UNESCO Commissions. For contact information on individual local offices see http://www.unesco.org/ (and search under the heading Communities, National Commissions).
Applications sent directly to the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will not be processed.
Prospective applicants are advised to address their inquiries concerning, among others, their eligibility and closing date for applications to the Czech Embassies in their countries.

The European Master of Science Programme in International Health is part of tropEd, a network of 33 European and 7 non-European institutions for higher education. In existence since 1996, tropEd collaborates closely with institutions in Asia, Africa, and the Americas in providing postgraduate education and training opportunities.
The European Master of Science Programme in International Health is a one year, full-time study programme taught in English excepted in Mexico (in spanish). The main objective of the programme is to raise awareness of current global health concerns. Students become qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the health and well-being of populations in low- and middle-income countries and to formulate effective and appropriate responses to complex health-related issues.
The tropEd EMMC is offered by 7 European Institutions, and 3 Third Country Institutions, each contributing with Specific expertise in a particular area of International Health:

Erasmus Mundus – IMACS Scholarships
The Erasmus Mundus Masters Course “International Master in Advanced Clay Science” plans to form high level graduates in the field of clay science by providing them the competence, fundamental knowledge and skill necessary to perfectly assimilate the more recent developments in clay science and their applied perspectives.

The term “Clay Science” is used in its widest sense as it covers a very large and multidisciplinary domain, with career prospects in the cement and ceramic industry, paper and paint industry, civil engineering, geotechnics, nanotechnology, mineralogy-crystallography, pedology, geology, medicine, cosmectic industry, foods, petroleum and mining industry, environmental cleanup, groundwater protection… The IMACS provides a complete background in the main fields of clay science and technology as well as an in depth professional specialisation in two of the following fields :
“Environment, Soil and Geological system”
“Geomaterials and Civil Engineering – Assessment and processing”
“Advanced clay, Nanomaterial”
“Healing minerals”
AIPEA (Agence Internationale pour l’Etude des Argiles) is associated to this Master. AIPEA is dedicated to the world-wide promotion of and international cooperation in clay research and technology.
IMACS is an integrated Master of Science designed by 5 institutions with a wide range of leadership in clay science :
- the University of Poitiers (UP) in France (co-ordinator),
- the University of Aveiro (UA) in Portugal,
- the Technical University of Crete (TUC) (Chania) in Greece,
- the University of Ottawa (UO) in Canada,
- the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (Porto Alegre) in Brazil.
Requirements and Supports
Deadline for students scholarships application : 31 December for out of Europe Students and 30 April for European students.
- The Masters Course is open to students having acquired a BSc with a minimum grade of “B” in the ECTS grading system as well as a proven fluent understanding of the English language (TOEFL : 550 PBT, or IELTS : 6.5). Academic equivalency may be attributed based on the professional experience of the applicant.
- Tuition fees : 8000 € by year.
- Attractive scholarships can be awarded to students (including contribution to travel, installation, participation cost and a monthly allowance).
- Free language training (FR, PT, G, EN).
Many students’ services and facilities (visa request, accommodation, insurance, bank account opening, social and cultural activites…).
Short-term scholarships (max. 3 months) for academics to carry out research and teaching assignments.
