The Doctoral schools and courses has the purpose to supply to the enrolled one, also by periods of study abroad and stage near subject private and publics, competences of elevated level and qualification, adapted to the exercise of activity of research and professionalities that demand a high degree of scientific preparation.

The selection for the access to the Course of Doctorate happens for public competition. The Course of Doctorate instituted from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia begins of norm the first January and has the duration of three years.

Malaysia WFS Master PhD Scholarships 2011-2012


Master PhD Scholarships 2011-2012 in Malaysia for Malaysian students The World Federation of Scientists (WFS), based in Geneva, Switzerland, promotes international collaboration in science and technology between scientists and researchers from all parts of the world and has more than 10,000 members from all parts of the world.
The scholarship is awarded to Malaysian nationals to support scientific research activities in Malaysian universities, under the supervision of a local scientist. Each scholarship has a duration of maximum one year and is valued at about 2400 swiss franc (about RM 6,600).

Applications are invited from post graduate students at all Malaysian universities (both at Master’s and PhD level). The research activities must be linked to one of the Planetary Emergencies as set out by the World Federation of Scientists (seewww.federationofscientists.org In Malaysia, priority will be given to research in the fields of :
* environmental pollution
* water resources
* soil
* energy
* food
* climate change
* medicine
* biotechnology
* sustainable development
Up to 10 scholarships (per country) can be awarded in any one year. The scholarship brochure and application form are attached.
This scholarship is open to students who have no other scholarship or have only partial support from elsewhere. It is also only open topostgraduate students who are doing research. Those doing their postgraduate degree by coursework are not eligible. The scholarship is open only to Malaysians doing research in Malaysian universities.

UK Full International Research Scholarships 2011-2012

Fully-Funded International Research Scholarships (FIRS) University of Leeds UK
Session 2011-2012 – Closing Date: 24 January 2011
Fully funded University International Research Scholarships are available for high quality international students who will be commencing PhD research study in Session 2011-12 for study in any Faculty at the University of Leeds.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA – Please read this information carefully, as your application form will be automatically rejected if you do not meet ALL of the eligibility criteria listed below
• Applicants MUST first submit a research degree study application form and be in receipt of a University BANNER ID Number (Student ID Number) to be eligible for a Fully-Funded International Research Scholarship. Applications without a valid University ID Number will be rejected. To apply for a place on a research degree programme, please visit: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/students/apply_research.htm
• These awards are only available to applicants who would be liable to pay academic fees at the full international fee rate;
• Applicants must normally hold a First Degree at undergraduate level equivalent to at least a UK First Class Honours degree and should be considered to be the `best of the best’ (eg, applicants should be demonstrably in the top 20% of their cohort). Applicants should either have graduated with the appropriate First Degree or be in their final year of study;
• Applicants whose first language is not English must have already met the University’s English Language requirements . Some Schools require a standard of English higher than the University minimum;
• These awards are not open to individuals who have already been awarded a Doctoral degree or equivalent qualification;
• Applicants must not hold another Scholarship
REGULATIONS
These include the following (full information on the regulations will be sent to all successful applicants):
• Awards must be taken up on 1 October 2011;
• The awards are available for new research students undertaking full-time study leading to the degree of PhD. Students who are already registered for PhD research study are excluded from this competition;
• The award will cover full international fees and a maintenance grant of £13,895 per annum. There are no additional allowances for travel or research costs;
• The award will be made for one year in the first instance and renewable for a further period of up to two years, subject to satisfactory academic progress;
• Applicants must live within a reasonable distance of the University of Leeds whilst in receipt of this Scholarship.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
• Applicants must complete all sections of the application form, using the space provided on the form and with strict observation of any word limits. Attachments are not permitted and all will be disregarded.
• The completed form should be returned to the Postgraduate Scholarships Office, Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Building, University of Leeds, Leeds LS2 9JT by no later than 24 January 2011 or by email to pg_scholarships@leeds.ac.uk

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & RESULT
Applications are logged by the Postgraduate Scholarships Office and passed on to the relevant Schools for initial consideration. Each School selects a shortlist of applicants who they wish to recommend for the award. The Group on Scholarships, Studentships and Prizes then meets to consider the shortlists and select the successful applicants. Applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of March 2011. The University will publish the names of the successful applicants within the University and externally on the University website.

14 PhD Fellowships in Life Sciences, Italy

14 PhD Fellowships starting in spring 2010
Talented and motivated candidates who have, or are expecting to obtain by end of July 2010 a Master or equivalent degree in Life Sciences and Bioinformatics, are invited to submit their application by 31st January 2010.
The candidates can postulate for one to three specific projects. Each project is developed as a collaboration between researchers at the Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM) and one of the other partner institutions.

About the conditions of the Fellowships
For this first call, the FEM will sponsor all 14 fellowships. Selected candidates will spend a total of 2 years work at FEM and 1 year at the partner institution co-responsible for the specific PhD project. Successful candidates can start working on their project from April 2010.
Note that the GMPF PhD programme does not handle request for registration as PhD student. FEM is a research Foundation and cannot issue the PhD degree. Therefore successful candidates will have to register as PhD students with the university partner of the project or with another university.
Fellows students will have 1 year time from when the fellowships starts to register as PhD students. If at the end of the first year the selected candidate is not yet registered as PhD, the fellowship will stop.
The graduate studies curricula are carried out according to the rules of the University where the candidate is enrolled as PhD student. In addition to the graduate certificate of the University hosting the PhD student, the GMPF PhD Programme issues a specific graduate study certificate.
The salary is 20.000 Euro per year (before taxes) and is provided for 3 years with the possibility to extend for 1 more year, pending the approval of the Tutor Committee. Students will also benefit of bench fees and reimbursement for travelling to the other institutions.
Application
The applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent from a university in the field of Life Sciences and Bioinformatics. It is also possible to apply when the master’s degree is received within six month after the application deadline (31st July). In this case please provide a copy of your Bachelor’s degree or an academic transcript.

Assessment and selection procedure
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of their curriculum and of the letter(s) of recommendation. Short-listed candidates will be informed 3 weeks after the call has closed and invited for a two-day interview to be held at FEM in San Michele all’Adige (Italy) in March 2010 (specific dates will be given soon).

BEASISWA UNIVERSITAS MERCU BUANA

I. LATAR BELAKANG
Dalam rangka memberi kesempatan kepada Putra/Putri Terbaik Indonesia untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke Jenjang Strata 1 (S1) maka Universitas Mercu Buana memberikan beasiswa kepada 200 Orang yang terdiri dari 2 (dua) Jenis Beasiswa, yaitu Beasiswa Unggulan dan Beasiswa Prestasi.
II. JENIS BEASISWA
A. PROGRAM BEASISWA UNGGULAN
Beasiswa ini diberikan dalam bentuk bebas biaya studi selama masa studi di Universitas Mercu Buana yaitu 8 semester (4 tahun). Jumlah penerima beasiswa ini adalah 50 Orang.
Beasiswa ini dapat diperoleh dengan syarat2 sebagai berikut :
1. Warga Negara Indonesia
2. Siswa kelas 3 atau lulus SMA/K pada tahun 2011.
3. Jalur akademik : Memiliki nilai rata-rata raport lebih besar dari 7.50, termasuk 10 siswa terbaik di kelas selama 4 semester dan lolos seleksi.
4. Jalur non-akademik: Juara kompetisi tingkat nasional untuk berbagai bidang (bukti sertifikat) atau Hafal 30 Juz Juz Al Quran (dibuktikan dengan sertifikat dari lembaga yang diakui)
ATURAN TAMBAHAN:
1. Penerima beasiswa harus menyelesaikan kuliah dalam kurun 4 tahun akademik
2. Siswa yang mendapatkan nilai IPK di bawah 3.00 pada semester berjalan, maka tidak mendapat beasiswa pada sementer berikutnya.
3. Nominasi ini akan gugur dengan sendirinya apabila siswa tidak lulus UAN.
4. Tidak sedang atau akan menerima beasiswa lain.
5. Bagi yang tidak lolos seleksi maka dimasukkan kedalam Program Beasiswa Prestasi.
Bagi yang tidak masuk nominasi Program Beasiswa Unggulan akan diikutkan Program Beasiswa Prestasi.

Beasiswa ini diberikan dalam bentuk potongan Biaya Studi sesuai prestasi. Jumlah penerima beasiswa ini adalah 150 orang.
Beasiswa ini dapat diperoleh dengan syarat2 sebagai berikut :
1. Warga Negara Indonesia
2. Siswa kelas 3 atau lulus SMA/K pada tahun 2011.
3. Jalur akademik : Memiliki nilai rata-rata raport lebih besar dari 7.0 dan lolos seleksi.
4. Jalur non-akademik: Juara kompetisi tingkat kotamadya/propinsi untuk berbagai bidang karya ilmiah, olah raga, seni, dll (bukti sertifikat).
